We’re expecting an update from coach Hoeppner’s doctors sometime this afternoon. We’ll pass it along as soon as we get it.

Also, Chris and I will be answering reader questions at 11 a.m. today, including any questions you have about coach Hoeppner. Please e-mail your questions to [email protected] You can view our responses at heraldtimesonline.com/livediscussion/discuss.php.

The Indy Star has an update on Coach Hep’s surgery….apparently they spoke with his son @ BH ~ he said the surgery went well and Hep was awake and alert.

How is it that the local paper in Bloomington gets scooped on IU Bloomington news coming out of Bloomington Hospital by an Indianapolis Paper??????

Like any newspaper, we don’t get every story first. But we’re certainly always trying. I think if you’ll look at the H-T’s web site, www. heraldtimesonline.com, you’ll see we haven’t done too badly on this difficult story. Our coverage has included about 10 stories over the past two days, talking with coach Hoeppner, his coaches, players, IU administrators, H-T readers and the head coach for Southern Illinois, who has battled cancer this year.
