Sampson reflective on anniversary of 9/11…

Kelvin Sampson’s mind isn’t on basketball today.

He was still up at 5:15 a.m. to get to the Hoosiers’ morning conditioning session, but like all of us he couldn’t help but remember the sadness he felt five years ago today. And then he thought of the men and women fighting the wars that sprung from the terrorists attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, who he had the chance to visit.

Sampson shared with us memories of his two trips to the Middle East, and related the stories of the soldiers he met and coached. You’ll be able to find the whole story in tomorrow’s Herald-Times.
