Big Rob: We hardly knew ‘ye

I was mindlessly scanning my AIM buddy list (instead of studying) and found a very amusing away message I thought I would share with everyone:

“I pour up da hen and coke and fire up dat dro…”

For those of you who haven’t caught 106 & Park lately (and for those who don’t know what 106 & Park is), the away message is a reference to drinking a combination of Hennessy/Coca-Cola and smoking pot.

(I listen to a lot of rap music).

So who might you ask, does this provoactive away message belong to?

None other than former Indiana Hoosier great Robert Vaden. Vaden, as you may recall, transferred to UAB this summer to continue playing under Mike Davis. Vaden can’t play basketball this season is forced to sit-out this year due to NCAA transfer rule.

Sounds like he’s taking full advantage of the year. Or is he?

Maybe we should give Vaden the benefit of the doubt.

I’m going to assume that Vaden is just a big fan of Ludacris’s verse of Lil’ Jon & The Eastside Boyz’s song “Bia Bia.” Ludacris leads his verse with the line:

“Well pour out the Henn and Coke and fire up dat dro.”

Slightly different than Vaden’s “away message” — but who knows, maybe it’s just a coincidence. All I know is, it sounds like IU’s party school reputation is in jeopardy with the loss of Big Rob.

Maybe this is why Mr. Vaden gained so much weight during last season he couldn’t get a rebound.

I wouldn’t look too much into it. A lot of people put lyrics in their away messages, etc.

Although I have heard that Mr. Vaden was a player with the ladies…..

Don’t be hatin on Rob Vaden…he’s a clutch player whether he loves his Hennessy or not. Since he is on your buddy list, do you know him or are you stalking him?
