Here’s what Ryan wrote after the Friday night game.
Unfortunately, you have to be a subscriber to read it.
This just in from Ryan, who’s out in Columbus covering the Big Ten Soccer tournament.Â
Darren Yeagle scooped up an errant Brian Ackley header and buried it to give the No. 10 Hoosiers the game-winning goal and their first win over Penn State in four games.
John Mellencamp crossed the ball about ten minutes into the second half and Ackley was able to get a partial header. Yeagle was there to score the goal.
A few other notes from the game:
– Brad Ring and Brian Ackley, who’ve been coming off the bench for most of the latter part of the season, both got starts. They started in place of freshmen midfielders Eric Alexander and Kevin Alston.
– Greg Stevining, out since last week with a concussion, played. He last 45 minutes before being replaced by senior captain Julian Dieterle.Â
