Saffold doubtful for Michigan

Indiana’s starting left tackle Rodger Saffold is doubtful to play against Michigan Saturday because of illness, according to coach Terry Hoeppner.

Hoeppner didn’t say what illness Saffold has, but in talking about Saffold likely missing the game mentioned that it’s cold and flu season. Sophomore Kyle Thomas is expected to start at left tackle, Hoeppner said.

Linebacker Matt Mayberry has been ruled out of the game because of injury. Running back Marcus Thigpen is probable, Hoeppner said, after suffering what appeared to be an ankle injury Saturday against Minnesota.

[...] Probably not good when you’re Indiana, you’re facing Lamarr Woodley, and your starting left tackle is out. Also out is serendipitously-named linebacker Matt Mayberry. [...]
