Gordon injures wrist, but his dad says he’ll play at Wisconsin

Eric Gordon did injure his left wrist in practice, as rumors have been suggesting since last night, but he will play against Wisconsin, Gordon’s father told Jeff Rabjohns of the Indianapolis Star this morning.

Gordon came down hard on his wrist after going for a rebound in practice Tuesday, according to Rabjohn’s story, and will wear protective padding on the wrist, which is apparently sore but not swollen. To read Rabjohns’ story, click here.

With a spokesman for the basketball program saying within the past hour that he still didn’t know if Gordon was hurt, the news from Gordon’s dad (who hasn’t as of yet returned our phone calls) saves us from having to stake out the Assembly Hall parking lot before basketball practice this afternoon, which is a huge disappointment. I was getting the walkie-talkies and camouflage ready to go.

That’s good news. But then again, all we heard in the week leading up to the Kentucky game was that EJ would play. Then he didn’t. just pointing that out
