Indiana at Penn State, in-game analysis

D.J. White gets up and hits a shot.

PENN STATE 31, INDIANA 30 (HALF)

Should be an interesting half-time speech.

PENN STATE 31, INDIANA 30 (:20)

Gordon’s dunk put back of a Bassett miss is destined for the highlight reel of this season. But what about the rest of this game?

Penn State’s able to find a decent shot almost every time down the court. Here, D.J. Jackson gets free under the net and draws a foul while hitting the bucket.

Now White is able to draw a foul at the other end and get to the line.

Final possession, and Penn State’s going to take some time to discuss it.

PENN STATE 28, INDIANA 26 (3:58)

Indiana’s defense creates a few points on a 6-0 run to even it up. The Hoosiers have turned the ball over seven times, though.

PENN STATE 26, INDIANA 22 (6:47)

The Hoosiers are settling on offense, refusing to try to burst into the zone or scramble it with quick passes.

And the defense has been lackadaisical so far.

PENN STATE 14, INDIANA 14 (11:56)

The Hoosiers need to be better on the break. They have trouble finding the open man. DeAndre Thomas, all 300-plus pounds of him, charged up the court as Gordon cut to the net. But Thomas gave the ball to Crawford nearby, and Crawford turned it over as Gordon stood under the basket, almost pleading for the ball.

PENN STATE 9, INDIANA 8 (15:16)

D.J. White will shoot to complete a 3-point play and tie the game.

Indiana’s going to shoot over the zone. Gordon’s 1-for-3 and Bassett’s 1-for-2 from 3 so far. They’ll also hope to find room for D.J., but Penn State is doubling him whenever he touches the ball.

——-

Crawford will start in Ellis’ spot along with the other regulars: Bassett, Gordon, Stemler and D.J. White.

Tip in minutes.

Is there another radio station to listen to the game besides 105.1? I can NEVER get that station to come in clearly…only in and out depending on where you stand!

Jordan is playing his tail off, but taking bad shots. Love ya Lance, but he is a lame duck if we do not get any offense from him. He and Taber are just outlet passes. Makes opponent defense much easier. Lackadaisial defense is mild.
