D.J. White selected by Detroit at No. 29

[10:55 UPDATE]

Yeah. So, apparently D.J.’s headed to Seattle. Forget all the stuff down below. He would have never fit in with the Pistons.

But the Sonics? He’ll play with Kevin Durant, and that’s a system that should work well for pretty much any complimentary player.

Looks like D.J. White is headed to Motown.

As people have been pointing out all along, Detroit is probably a good place for D.J. The Pistons play a rugged style that he’ll fit into.

Interestingly, there was a report about a month ago that the Pistons had given White a guarantee that they would draft him. He then skipped th pre-draft camp, providing more evidence that he already felt secure about where he would end up.

I was born in Detroit and have lived here in Bloomington for almost ten years. I hope DJ stays in Detroit…he’s a great fit for them, and (contrary to what most Indiana folks think) it’s a great city where I think he’d have a great career.

Either way…first round, way to go DJ!! Good luck!

That kind of sucks for DJ here he was suppposedly promised to go to Detroit and they trade him for two 2nd rounders. Oh well he will probably have a greater opportunity to play in Seattle or Oklahoma City. Good Luck DJ you are the man.

DJ was a terrible fit in Detroit, they’ve already got 4 PF’s better than him (Wallace, McDyess, Maxiell, Johnson). It’s a good thing he’s not going there.

What a class act! I will miss this guy BIG TIME! I will never forget the way he kept trying to get the team and bench into that last game vs Arkansas. He was the only kid on the team that gave a crap..in the end. GOOD LUCK!!!
