FINAL: All the seniors get to play and it is a resounding victory for Indiana. We’ll see if this momentum carries into the postseason. HOOSIERS 2, WILDCATS 0

21:53, SECOND HALF: Second TV timeout here at Armstrong Stadium, and IU still dominating. Only in the last couple of minutes has Northwestern mounted any real threat, and Chay Cain has made the saves. HOOSIERS 2, WILDCATS 0

HALFTIME

In what may have been the Hoosiers’ best first half of the season, Indiana thoroughly dominated Northwestern. We’ll see if they can sustain the high level of play. HOOSIERS 2, WILDCATS 0

7:07, FIRST HALF: Neil Wilmarth took on multiple defenders then laid the ball off to Andy Adlard. Adlard’s driving shot was turned away by the goalkeeper, but John Mellencamp was there to clean up with a volley into the net. HOOSIERS 2, WILDCATS 0

19:26, FIRST HALF: Will Bruin on the receiving end of a corner kick by Andy Adlard, and he heads it home for the lead. HOOSIERS 1, WILDCATS 0

22:37, FIRST HALF: Indiana has been strong in the early going, nearly getting a goal from Will Bruin in the 5th minute on a breakaway, but Northwestern goalkeeper Drew Kotler made the save. IU has outshot NU, 3-0, but the Wildcats do have three corner kicks. HOOSIERS 0, WILDCATS 0

PREGAME

Flying under the sports radar tonight, it’s No. 7 Northwestern against No. 22 Indiana in the Hoosiers’ regular season finale at Armstrong Stadium. Neither team can win the Big Ten title, but a win for Indiana can be the difference between the No. 3 seed and No. 5 seed in next week’s Big Ten Tournament at Wisconsin.

It is also Senior Night for IU’s Chay Cain, Brad Ring, John Mellencamp, Kevin Noschang, Brian Ackley, Nick Sutter, Billy Weaver and Doug Reisinger. The game is live on the Big Ten Network if you’re not at a high school football game, IU basketball exhibition or whatever. The soccer Hoosiers are unbeaten on the BTN at 5-0-4.
