Four Hoosier recruits enroll for spring semester

Four of the recruits in Indiana’s football recruiting class of 2010 are enrolled for the spring semester and can participate in spring practice.

Cornerback Lenyatta Kiles and linebacker Jeff Thomas both joined the Hoosiers as mid-year transfers from junior colleges. They signed letters of intent in December and said then that they would enroll in the spring. IU also added two players who graduated high school early in linebacker Jack Denton from Zionsville Community High School and running back Antonio Banks from Middletown High School in Middletown, Ohio.

That’s a positive change for the Hoosiers- showing up in the 2nd half.

Happened to run into Antonio over the holidays while watching my niece’s JV BBall game at the home of the Middies. He had his IU ball cap on and was chewing fruit flavored gum and was talking about getting his car fixed. Thing is, I didn’t know who he was and what he was up to (coming to IU) until the next day.

Out in the hallway at Middletown HS, they have a school hall of fame display where among others, there is a plaque honoring Jerry Lucas. Didn’t know he was from Middletown.
