He is in the building

Tom Crean is seated in the first row behind the Washington basket. If you are watching at home, he is wearing his Crimson pullover. Every other coach is wearing a suit. Tubby Smith looks particularly dapper.

Crean, I suppose, is hoping to stand out.

Dane Fife and Ohio State assistant Brandon Miller are also in the building.

He also took Moses to Cheeseburger in Paradise. Doesn’t surprise me. I wonder if he takes recruits to the Bloomington Wal Mart, too.

  • jj says:

Would it be an NCAA violation for Crean to hold up a sign that says “please, pretty please”

  • Casey says:

    Bart,

Not a fan of Cheeseburger in Paradise?

Come on, they have ice cream nachos!

  • Hoosier Clarion says:

I’ve never had a bad meal at Cheeseburger and Paradise. Hell if somebody is buying what the hay.

  • Bartholomew Fairchild says:

I just think that if you are trying to impress a recruit, you should go to a classic place like Nick’s, which has history, is decorated with IU stuff, and is located in the old part of town. I don’t know if there is a better campus stroll in the nation than a walk that leads down through the sample gates onto Kirkwood into quaint, amenable, historic old Bloomington. If you are competing with the lofty East Coast culture and architecture in the Georgetown area, you want to make sure that Moses sees and eats the best of Bloomington.

Now we are bashing Crean for is meal choice? My goodness

  • conwayhill says:

Maybe, he asked the current players how many times has tc taken them out to dinner???? That answer would be never, so don’t expect it again… Could that be a dose of reality on actually how tc really is??

  • jj says:

Washington just won the title. How did Crean react? Hope he ran out and chest bumped Zeller!

  • Jubilee says:

    Fairchild,

He was in town for 2 days…I’m sure they made it to other places then cheeseburgers in paradise……they had to have around 6 meals….that means they went to 5 other places…

  • Bartholomew Fairchild says:

I’m a big Crean fan; however, I am also a food snob, and don’t like corporate chain restaurants that get everything they need from the Sysco truck.

I just needed to express my frustration.

Maybe Crean can hire me as dining coordinator for recruiting.

Ding dong the wicked witch is dead! 73-66 WVU over UK!

    YES!!!

  • Casey says:

    Bart,

Good point, but in the end, if where the recruit went to eat is factoring that heavily in where he’d like to go to college, I’m not sure I’d want that player here.

    Plus, Nick’s is 21-and-over.

Conwayhill — no one knows what the hell you’re talking about.

  • Hoosier Clarion says:

How much could a foreign kid that has been here only four months from Nigeria care about a chain restaurant or not.

  • Husky Tom says:

Wow. No more Kentucky. What a relief. And now I can say that my Dawgs lost to a Final Four team and potentially a national champ/national champ “competer.”

What a great night for basketball fans in the state of Indiana. Give me Baylor and Tennessee tomorrow and we’ll have the most refreshing-looking Final FOur that I have seen in a long time.

  • Hoosier Clarion says:

    pUKe no more this season.

  • dboisssdetroit says:

Casey face the truth,, not all the decietful lies ways to make yourself; tc and flunkies a living while tearing, mistreating, causing hostile conflicts with your players, youthful, honorable young mens lives down,, that’s not I.U. standards only the devils. Please read the standard handbook of the loyal I.U. Nation!!!

  • docdave says:

Does anyone understand the post from dboisssdetroit above? I’m just glad my name isn’t Casey.

  • Jubilee says:

    Can anyone translate dbois post?

  • Jubilee says:

    good thinking doc…

  • Hoosier Clarion says:

    Casey definitely has him upset.

  • GFDave says:

PUke gone. pUKe gone. Baylor, please make dOOk gone too.

The conversation regarding food has taken recruiting analysis to a whole new level. I know I am much more informed and ready to predict the next signee because of it.

I think dboisssdetroit thinks that Crean is mean. Although I have to admit that’s a guess because I don’t speak the language his post was written in.

  • Casey says:

Yeah, I don’t speak that language either.

    dboissdetroit,

If what you just stated is the “truth,” I’d just as soon be content to go on believing lies. I have no idea what you’re talking about, and can only assume you went to University of Milwaukee – Wisconsin, despite your dream of playing for Crean at Marquette.

You probably averaged 0.7 points and 4 fouls per game on your class 5C high school basketball team and took Crean’s lack of interest as an insult, interpreting it as a reflection of how much of a meany he is.

For your next post, try consulting a few outside sources for advice in coherence, and maybe draw up a couple of drafts until you actually have something that makes sense.

Also, it’s spelled IU. There are no periods necessary. Or is that in the handbook? Did I and every other IU fan in the world miss that?

For the record…I love most of the items at Cheeseburger In Paradise. Gotta love the sweet potato chips.

To paraphrase Martin Luther King: Kentucky’s gone, Kentucky’s gone, thank God Almighty, Kentucky’s gone!!

  • An Idiot says:

Being very ignorant I support Duke.

I want to see the Butler fighting the Duke in the final. And there I want to see Duke win again.

I am an idiot who can’t forget Mike Krzyzewski was once (26 years ago) an assistant coach at Indiana.

But I think the Volunteers are dangerous. Let MSU take them out, then lose to Butler. If Baylor beats the Duke let them lose to Butler in the final. That’s what I hope for.

dboissssdetroit’s message worries me a little, I think he wrote it while in tears or on the verge of breaking into tears…

  • J Pat says:

It changed last year…kids can eat at Nicks, Yogis, etc now. I know this for a fact. Sampson had Rose at Yogis and it did not work out. Maybe a salad from Marsh would work…
