Depth Chart for Arkansas State

More on this in the blog to follow, but Indiana released its depth chart for the Arkansas State game Monday and senior right tackle James Brewer is still not on it because of his ankle injury. Sophomore Marc Damisch is back on at right guard. Junior Leon Beckum has been moved from the middle to the starter at weakside linebacker.

Junior left tackle and sophomore Will Matte, both of whom suffered injuries Saturday but returned to the game, are also listed on the depth chart.

The rest follows.

Just some observations: 1) IU is really thin on the OL, we can not even go 2 deep, both McShane and Hagger are #2 at two positions; 2) let’s give a shout out to Terrance Thomas, a 6’1 265 DE (Anchor) who is a senior and has moved up the depth chart to be #1 with really good play this season! A question: could IU play 3 safeties, with clear assignments to NEVER let anyone BEHIND them; and could we play press coverage-not 5-10 yards off-at the corners on at least the 2 best receivers on the other team? Three safeties should stop the long plays; playing close to the receivers should help on the missed tackles.

Couldn’t agree with you more BP, we need to start getting in the recievers faces and give our pass rush a chance to get to the QB. We’ve got some good talent up front and we need to buy them and extra second or two to get to the QB.
