Report: Houston OL Dimitric Camiel commits to IU and are reporting that Dimitric Camiel, a 6-foot-6, 290-pound offensive lineman from Westfield High School Houston, Texas, has committed to Indiana. Camiel also had offers from Mississippi State, Arizona State, Kansas, Tulane, Utah State and Wyoming.

UPDATE, 9:53 p.m.: Camiel confirmed his commitment by phone.

“That was the first visit I took,” Camiel said. “I kinda knew it was the place I wanted to be. … Things there are very family oriented. The coaching staff is amazing.”

Camiel said he had narrowed his choices down to IU and Mississippi State before picking the Hoosiers. He said he played tackle in high school, but was willing to play wherever at the next level.

“Whatever vision they have for me and whatever vision they see for me, I’ll be happy with,” Camiel said.

Good to see us beat out an SEC school rather than a MAC school for a player for once.

Great pick-up for the staff. A win over SEC, PAC 12, and Big 12 schools is nice to see.

Besides being someone other BCS wanted, he is also a recruit Frey and Wilson focused on.
