Hoosier Brunch


I know this is late for you on Eastern time, but well, it’s pretty early here on the west coast, and we had a long day yesterday. So if you complain, you’re banned from the Scoop! (Just kidding.)

1. HOOSIERS HQ

IU got its first taste of tournament success, as the Hoosiers took it to New Mexico State last night in the first round, Dustin wrote.

The Hoosiers have done their best to “Finish the Fight” this season, and against NMSU, they took the first punch, I wrote.

2. INDIANA BASKETBALL

Now, with a second-round matchup with VCU on the docket, it’s going to get interesting for Indiana in the NCAA Tournament, Bob Kravitz of the Indy Star writes.

All Indiana needed was a layup line to beat New Mexico State in the second half, Rick Bozich of the Louisville Courier Journal wrote.

Cody Zeller’s parents opted to go watch their “favorite son”, he joked, as they watch brother Tyler in Greensboro, LaMond Pope of the Journal Gazette writes.

Jordan Hulls was a big part of shooting his team into the second round of the Dance, Pete DiPrimio of the News-Sentinel writes.

Cody Zeller’s defense played a big part in downing the Aggies’ No. 1 free throw rated attack, Connor O’Gara of the IDS writes.

Crean may never have Indiana back to where it was in the Knight era, but he’s winning the “Indiana Way”, Avi Zaleon of the IDS writes.

3. ONE FOR THE ROAD

Jayson Jenks of Grantland.com looks into the berth of the game, Bill Self, and Kansas basketball. Good stuff.

    Interesting story about Naismith and Self and Kansas.

    And I’m glad the rules didn’t end up at Duke; totally inappropriate.
