Please make sure when you interview Coach Seltzer that you make him aware how thankful Hoosier Nation is of the work he did to rebuild the program. He will always be part of the IU family.

Coach Seltzer is a great guy. Not only is he a great coach, but a good friend of mine. He will make Samford University into a winner with the same hard work and dedication he gave to our Indiana basketball program. Who knows, maybe Samford University may start a new tradition with the candy striped warm up pants too. Good luck Bennie.

I remember when Tom Crean was first hired, he brought Seltzer on as an assistant pretty quickly. We were worried because he’d also worked with Cellvin Sampson. Then he proved himself by wearing the candy stripes to AAU games to represent IU. I like anybody that will wear the candy stripes when they’re not on court warming up for a game. Clearly his efforts paid off, considering the numerous good recruits we’ve gotten since then.

Given the turnaround between then and now, I’d agree that we owe Mr. Seltzer some gratitude, and I wish him well as a head coach. Samford’s a good school and a nice campus, and seems to be a place where you can succeed.

    Good luck, Coach Seltzer!

How come nobody has brought up Dane Fife’s name as a replacement?

    Double Down,
I don’t know about anyone else, but my rationale for not bringing him into the discussion is that he already has a Big Ten assistant coaching job and I’d be surprised to see them go after Fife instead of just promoting Cheaney from within. Fife taking Cheaney’s job would be too significant of a pay cut.

Congratulations and Good Luck coach Seltzer.

I seem to remember hearing coach Mclain was being considered for a head coaching job somewhere. Has anyone heard any more about this?
