Hey guys great chat as always. If possible I would like to get a follow up answer to the question regarding the academic eligibility of the incoming freshmen. Without specifically speculating on a certain player can you give us an idea what would happen if someone was ineligible?

Would they go to prep school and re-classify to 2013? If so would they still likely come to IU, just a year later? Will some other school with academic standards like UK find some way to get them in (sorry that was just sitting there I had to take the UK shot)?

    Beard,
The academic eligibility issue appears likely to be the lack of a qualifying ACT score, which is an NCAA standard, not up to individual institutions.

If that’s the case, then the player would likely have to go the junior college route. I think prep school is more for guys who have struggled academically or had credits not approved by the NCAA. Dustin might know more about that aspect of things.

Would they still be welcome at IU? That’s between the player and coaching staff. Indiana would be under no obligation.
