According to the Twitter feed of Lady Ballers Insider, the Indiana women’s basketball team has picked up its first commitment for the 2014 recruiting class in the person of Jessica Walter. LBInsider.com ranks Walter as the No. 3 player in the state of Michigan among the 2014 class.

Walter is a 5-foot-11 wing from Midland, Mich., who plays AAU for Michigan Crossover. As a sophomore, she was a member of the Saginaw Valley League all-conference team and the Saginaw Valley News All-Area team, averaging 12 points, four rebounds and four assists per game.

Coach Miller is at it again, another highly regarded prospect coming to IU. Watched the video, looks like a really grounded fundamentally sound player. Very good passer and excellant shooter. Can’t wait for the season to start, purchased my season tickets a couple of weeks ago and I will be traveling to Valparaiso for their opening game. I am so excited about the beginning of the Curt Miller era in Bloomington! It’s great to have a coach who knows how to recruit fundamentally sound players who can shoot. That was always my criticism of the last coach, she recruited atheletes and not basketball players. Keep up the good job coach and “Go Hoosiers!”
