Indiana was named the favorite to win the Big Ten championship by an informal poll of 24 beat reporters — two from each school — covering the league.

The Hoosiers got 21 of the 24 first-place votes with Michigan getting the other three. Indiana was second on all three of those ballots.

Michigan was picked to finish second followed by Ohio State and Michigan State. The rest of the poll follows.

Team (1st)            Pts
1.  Indiana (21)   285
2.  Michigan (3)    256
