FINAL: INDIANA 60, INDIANA STATE 48. Host Hoosiers win coach Curt Miller’s Assembly Hall debut, improve to 2-1. Aulani Sinclair 22 points and Jasmine McGhee 12 for IU.

0:55.8: Indiana 57, Indiana State 45. Timeout. Hoosier ball.

3:09: Indiana 53, Indiana State 41. Hoosiers closing strongly. Great defensive second half, with Jasmine McGhee helping shut down ISU’s Anna Munn.

5:31: Indiana 49, Indiana State 39. IU’s Sasha Chaplin 5-foot rebound follow in the lane for the night’s first double-digit lead.

8:36: Indiana 45, Indiana State 36. Nicole Bell buries a 3 from the top of the key to make it a 7-0 Hoosier run. Timeout ISU.

11:14 to play: Indiana 38, Indiana State 34. Both teams just one FG after halftime. A “grinder” as they say.

14:58: Indiana 35, Indiana State 32. Lots of defense being played on both ends now. IU 0-6 after halftime from the field, but good shots have been tough to find.

HALFTIME INDIANA 33, INDIANA STATE 30: Jasmine McGhee rattled home an 18-footer to beat the buzzer and sent the Hoosiers into intermission up 3. But the big Indiana scorer is senior forward Aulani Sinclair with 15 points and excellent all-around play. ISU got a fine half of 3-point shooting from Anna Munn, who has 13 points. The Hoosiers are 11 of 24 from the floor and ISU is 8 of 12, with both teams 9 of 12 apiece from the foul line. Rebounds are close, too, with IU having a 16-15 edge. ISU has nine turnovers and IU seven.

1:55: Indiana 31, ISU 27: Aulani Sinclair has 15 points already. Terrific half for her.

3:59: Indiana 27, Indiana State 24: IU’s Aulani Sinclair, for the second time this half, nailed a 3 while getting foul. This time she hit the ensuing free throw, too, to give Indiana the lead back at 25-24, and then added two more charities. But now after a common foul on ISU’s Anna Munn, IU’s Jasmine McGhee is hit with a technical for retaliation. Neither coach real happy.

6:30: Indiana State 24, Indiana 21. Big Sycamore surge now as IU failed to get the rebound on two straight ISU free throw misses.

7:48: Indiana 21, Indiana State 18: Anna Munn’s trio of 3-pointers the reason the Sycamores are close.

13:15: Indiana 10, Indiana State 8: Boom. Boom. Two straight left-wing 3s for ISU, the second in transition, prompting a Miller timeout.

14:10: IndiaNa 10, Indiana State 2: ISU timeout after two straight Sasha Chaplin buckets, the second off a nice give-and-go with Brionna Arnold.

15:17: Indiana 6, Indiana State 2. Nice start for the Hoosiers, especially defensively. Aulani Sinclair has two of the IU buckets and just had another shot inside rim out.

PREGAME: Here for Curt Miller’s Assembly Hall debut as head coach of Indiana’s women, with Indiana State making its first visit to the Hall since 1991. The crowd is being exhorted to stand till IU’s first basket. Not too bad a crowd (with a nice ISU contingent), but part of Miller’s task will be to fill this place up better as time goes by. His track record indicates he can. Will update scores here and via Twitter at htograham.
