Final: Some selfish play at the end, and IUPUI hits three 3s in final moments, but Hoosiers hang on easily, 60-49. IU 23 of 53 shooting, 15 assists. Sinclair 20 points.
5:17 2nd: IU holding on to big lead as Jags continue to miss far more than they make. Rubene 6 of IU’s seaosn high 15 assists. IU up 60-37
Halfime: IU comes up with another offensive spurt to end the half up 38-21. Jags have played 11 players to IU’s 8 basically and its press is often leaving IU with 18 seconds or so to find a good shot. Poor shooting, however, has limited how often Jags can press and it’s caused some turnovers. But IU has also done a good job passing and finding the open player. Linda Rubene and Aulani Sinclair each have 10 points and Milika Taufa 8 for IU. Rubene has four assists, IU 11 total on 16 buckets. Hoosier are shooting 61.5 percent (16-of-26) and 4-of-6 on 3s. IUPUI struggling at 25 percent (8-of-32), 2-of-12 in teh last 6 minutes.
7:38, 1st IU having difficulty the last couple of minutes. Jags are full-court pressing and seems to be wearing. BUt IU leads, 24-12.
14:28, 1st: IU off to great start on both ends, leading 13-4. Jags getting ball in paint but not finishing. They are trying their best to speed the game up.

PREGAME: Hi, Jim Gordillo at Assembly Hall tonight as the Hoosier women try for a fourth straight win. It’s the first of five straight home games for IU. Hoosiers are 2-0 all-time vs. IUPUI, which features six Indianapolis area players and four other in-state recruits.
The 3-1 Jags, it should be noted, beat the same Valparaiso team (75-69 at home) that knocked off the Hoosiers in the season opener. They come in off a 71-67 win over Indiana State. IUPUI shooting 46.3 percent this year while IU foes shooting just 34.9.
IU band opens up with ‘Welcome to the Jungle’, The Jungle the name of IUPUI’s home court. Coincidence?
