Andy Katz of ESPN.com reported on his Twitter account that Tom Crean said IU freshmen Peter Jurkin and Hanner Mosquera-Perea won an appeal to travel to Brooklyn and will arrive Monday night. They will also have their appeal heard on their nine-game suspension on Friday.
UPDATE: Katz was apparently off on the date. The appeal will be heard Tuesday.

Glad they can go with the team even though its still BS.

Hope Peter, Hanna and Elston stand for most of the game so everyone can see what is yet to come.

Friday their appeal will be heard? That’s cute, but it needs to be heard NOW. How convenient for UCLA, who I pray loses to G’town in the interest of poetic justice, although I supposer it’s not their fault, this situation, I am “curious” as to how they “won” their appeal so damn soon, but I suppose it’s good for them beat the NCAA’s ruling.

How do you win an appeal to travel with the team but not to play??? It just makes less & less sense with every passing moment. & come to think of it, everywhere else in the world players appealing a suspension are eligible untill their appeal is heard-that way, you don’t risk players missing games unjustly, in the even that they win the appeal. You know, due process? Innocent untill proven guilty type of thing? Why is this not the case with the NCAA? I know, dumb question.

According to Don Fischer’s radio interview on 1070 The Fan this afternoon, the appeal will be heard Tuesday, which means Jurkin and Perea could be cleared to play tomorrow night. That perhaps explains the clearance to travel.

If they get cleared, which I think the ncaa will be forced to do, and if they have to play against UCLA fine, but it would be nice to have their first game at Assemby Hall and get a proper Hoosier welcome

I hope they get to play tomorrow…they’ll get the “proper welcome” later.

It would be “nice” to have their 1st game Assembly Hall? Well, okay. On the other hand however, it would be “absolutely F@#$%ing AWESOME”, to have their 1st game in New York tommorrow!
