FINAL: INDIANA 8, INDIANA STATE 1. Great game for Chad Clark, and a very solid overall Hoosier performance today.

END EIGHTH: Indiana 8, Indiana State 1. Chad Clark robbed of extra bases leading off the bottom of the eighth with a screamer to center as Landon Curry catches is while bouncing off the wall.

END SEVENTH: Indiana 6, Indiana State 1. Kyle Schwarber with a no-doubter homer to right, a solo shot, his ninth of the year. Sam Travis then doubled and came home on Casey Smith pinch-hit single to right.

END SIXTH: Indiana 4, Indiana State 1. Chad Clark just supplied his second 2-out RBI single to push IU’s lead to 3, scoring Dustin DeMuth, who had walked.

END FIFTH: Still Indiana, 3-1. Hoosiers turned a very nifty 4-6-3 double play to conclude the top half of the inning and Indiana State center fielder Landon Curry made a great sliding grab to rob Will Nolden to

END FOURTH: Indiana 3, Indiana State 1. Hoosiers double their lead as Dustin DeMuth drills a double off the right field fence and Chad Clark supplies a clutch 2-out single up the middle and just under pitcher Josh Negele’s glove.

END THIRD: Still Indiana 2, Indiana State 1.

END SECOND: Indiana 2, Indiana State 1. Sycamores nearly had a big inning, but Will Courson-Carr wriggled out of a bases-loaded jam after allowing just a single tally. ISU got back-to-back one-out singles from Owen Conway and Jacob Hayes and then a ringing double off the wall in left-center from Mike Fitzgerald to score Conway and get Hayes to third. A walk loaded the bases, but Courson-Carr induced a towering infield pop out and a groundout to end the threat.

END FIRST: Indiana 2, Indiana State 0. The Hoosiers parleyed a leadoff walk to Will Nolden, a Kyle Schwarber double scorched down the right field line, a Sam Travis single and a throwing error into a pair of runs.

Indiana State’s Sycamores (17-17) are at Bart Kaufman Field today. The Trees had a terrific season a year ago, winning the Missouri Valley regular-season title and making the NCAA tournament. Will Courson-Carr is on the mound for the Hoosiers today. We’ll have updates here and via Twitter at htograham.
