Matte to have tryout with Chiefs

Indiana center Will Matte did not receive a priority free agent contract, but he will have a tryout with the Kansas City Chiefs in the next few weeks. He said he wasn’t certain of a date yet, but expects to learn that from his agent tomorrow.

“I’m definitely a little disappointed, but I’m thankful that I can go out and play in front of the Chiefs,” Matte said. “… I obviously don’t pass the eye test, once I get out there and show them how I play and how athletic I am, I feel like I can maybe turn some heads and see how far I can take this.”

Will, Jeff Saturday was not highly regarded coming out of college either, but he overcame his doubters and had a great career. His next stop will be the Hall of Fame. Hang in there and know that the Hoosier Nation is pulling for you.
